TROY GARDENS SUSTAINABLE LIVING CENTER
With the housing project at Troy Gardens completed (after only 11 years of work), our next development project at Troy Gardens will be the long-awaited Sustainable Living Center.
This building will be home to all the people to live, work, garden, and otherwise enjoy the green spaces of Troy Gardens.
In the first quarter of 2008, we will be working closely with the Troy Gardens Condo Association and the Friends of Troy Gardens to refine our design for the building -- and we hope to kick-off the public phase of our fundraising campaign in the second half of 2008.
The Sustainable Living Center will be a LEED-certified project, with a goal of being a zero-net-energy building. The Sustainable Living Center will also be a universally designed building, so that all people can physically access all areas of the building.
We have put together a complete archive of all the work we have done on this project in the past five years -- it is part of the Troy Gardens Case Study. If you go to the Case Study Website, you will find all the designs we have done, meeting notes, funding applications, and more.
And for a sneak preview of what the design will look like, check out the SketchUp 3D renderings from October 2007.
Stay tuned -- lots more information to follow in the coming months.
